Dear Beyoncé: what's your secret?
As the hardest-working woman in the music biz, wife to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and mother of the most blogged about baby (in our opinion), Blue Ivy, we can't seem to wrap our heads around the fact that you step out looking fabulous 24/7. Well, it looks like the woman behind your golden glow is letting us know just how you "run the world" so beautifully.
Makeup artist and facialist Wei Lang recently revealed to NY Mag's The Cut that she's been tending to Beyoncé's red carpet beauty needs since earlier this year. And ironically, Lang had been previously working with the best-dressed celebrity's mother, Tina Knowles. Mama knows best!
When asked what are some of Beyoncé's beauty must-haves, Lang told The Cut:
She really does like liners, and she asks for that a lot, and lashes. And I always use mink lashes on her. They look amazing. I use strips by Velour called "Are Those Real?" and I got her really into it, so she buys them by the ton.
Say what? Fur lashes by the ton? PETA isn't going to be too pleased with this if that's real mink they're talking about.
It turns out, Beyoncé's not-so-fake eyelashes of choice are indeed 100 percent authentic mink fur. And after a bit of beauty investigating, we discovered that the Toronto-based company brushes the hairs from a live animal, then sterilizes them to ensure the product is hypo-allergenic. And with a $29.99 price tag (they're currently on sale from the original $59.99), this is one inexpensive guilty pleasure for such a megastar.
What do you think about Beyoncé's obsession with fur lashes? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
Meanwhile, head over to The Cut for more Beyoncé's beauty secrets, including how she likes to get her shimmer on and the lip color that made her Met gala look standout.
