While Calgary and many areas in southern Alberta begin the recovery process from devastating floods, Banff National Park and Lake Louise have already reopened and are ready for business, according to a press release from Banff Lake Louise Tourism.
Lake Louise and Banff weren't hit by the floods as hard as areas like Canmore and Calgary, and the Town of Banff's water supply and services were never compromised, the release states.
Power was lost, however, on Saturday when a transformer was flooded, the CBC reports. It was repaired a day later.
The majority of Banff's highways are safe for travel, according to the release, and the park's information centres are operating. Food and fuel supplies have been restored.
The TransCanada highway to and from Banff from the west is open as well.
